Plastic mold, is the plastic processing industry and plastic molding machine matching, giving plastic products with a complete configuration and size of the tool. There are many ways to classify plastic molds. According to the different methods of molding and processing of plastic parts, they can be divided into the following categories:
injection mould
Injection mold is also called injection mold. The molding process of this mold is characterized by placing the plastic raw material in the heating barrel of the injection machine. The plastic is heated and melted, and is driven by the screw or plunger of the injection machine to enter the mold cavity through the nozzle and the pouring system of the mold. The plastic is heat preservation, pressure holding, cooling and solidified in the mold cavity. Since the heating and pressurizing device can play a role in stages, injection molding can not only form plastic parts with complex shapes, but also have high production efficiency and good quality. Therefore, injection molding occupies a large proportion in the molding of plastic parts, and injection molds account for more than half of plastic molding molds. The injection machine is mainly used for the molding of thermoplastics, and has been gradually used for the molding of thermosetting plastics in recent years.
compression die
Compression mold is also called pressure mold or pressure mold. The molding process of this mold is characterized by the plastic raw materials directly added to the open mold cavity, and then the mold is closed, the plastic is melted under heat and pressure, and the cavity is filled with a certain pressure. At this time, the molecular structure of the plastic produces a chemical cross-linking reaction, which gradually hardens and sets. Compression molds are mostly used for thermosetting plastics, and their molded plastic parts are mostly used for electrical switch housings and daily necessities.
transfer mode
Transfer mold is also called injection mold or extrusion mold. The molding process of this mold is characterized by adding plastic raw materials into the preheated feeding chamber, and then applying pressure to the plastic raw materials in the feeding chamber by the pressure column. The plastic melts at high temperature and high pressure and enters the cavity through the gating system of the mold, and then chemical crosslinking occurs to reflect and gradually solidify and form. The transfer molding process is mostly used for thermosetting plastics, which can form plastic parts with complex shapes.
extrusion die
Extrusion die is also called extruder head. This mold can continuously produce plastics with the same cross-sectional shape, such as plastic pipes, bars, sheets, etc. The apparatus for heating and pressurizing the extruder is the same as that of the injection machine. The molten state of the plastic through the head will form a continuous molding plastic parts, the production efficiency is particularly high.
In addition to the types of plastic molds listed above, there are vacuum forming molds, compressed air molds, blow molds, low foam plastic molds, etc.
