What are the characteristics of welding fixture?

In modern welding production, actively promote and use the fixture which is suitable for the product structure, which plays a very important role in improving the product quality, reducing the labor intensity of workers, accelerating the mechanization and automation process of welding production.

The welding fixture is a process equipment that accurately positions and reliably clamps the welding parts, facilitates the assembly and welding of the welding parts, and ensures the structural accuracy of the welding parts. And the welding fixture is determined by the assembly welding process and the form of welding structure, compared with the machine tool fixture has the following characteristics:

1. In the welding process, the parts will be elongated due to welding heating or shortened due to cooling. In order to reduce or eliminate welding deformation, the fixture is required to provide anti-deformation or rigid clamping for some parts.

2. For machine tool fixtures, the processed workpiece is reduced in size and weight, making it easier to remove from the fixture. For the welding fixture, the size of the welded structure becomes larger, the weight increases, and the shape becomes complex, which increases the difficulty of removing from the fixture.

Because the weldment is generally composed of a number of simple parts, and the assembly and positioning of these parts are carried out in sequence on the welding fixture, therefore, their positioning and clamping are carried out separately. The machine tool fixture is a whole to be machined blank for a positioning and clamping.

The clamping points and positioning points on the assembly fixture and the welding fixture are several times or even ten times higher than those on the machine tool fixture. Therefore, the design is more difficult, especially the number of positioning points, the number of tightening points, the selection and the relationship between the two will affect the function and quality of the fixture.

A. 5. The welding fixture is mainly used to ensure the relative position accuracy of the welding structure and the shape accuracy of the whole structure, while the machine tool fixture is mainly used to ensure the machining accuracy of the parts.

6. In addition to the welding fixture used, the manufacturing accuracy of the general welding fixture itself, as well as the positioning accuracy of the welding parts are lower than the corresponding indicators of the machine tool fixture.
